Hope everyone had a great Christmas with their friends and family. Today we headed out to the Taft, California skatepark (30 minutes west of Bakersfield) in Intuitionland for a park session. Taft is home to Intuition rider Anthony Luna, rising force on the blades Chad Tannehill, and a growing scene of other proper bladers. The session was good times, and here is a look at what went down. If you are like me, then you cannot believe how fast Christmas and the Holiday Season have arrived this year. The shop has been busy, and I am eternally grateful for that. And it never ceases to amaze me how my friends find a unique way to make it feel more like Christmas, even as the days speed up and 2011 turns into a blur. These are the coolest Christmas cards I have received at Intuition so far.

The first card is from none other than legendary blade photographer Dan Busta. Check out his exemplary photography work here. The second card is from Brian Shima and the SSM crew, and is especially cool because it features a hand made likeness of my favorite musician of all time – Neil Young. Thank you Dan and Brian!

Now we all know that Christmas isn’t really about what ends up under the tree with your name on it, but what you give. So this year, give your scene/crew a proper holiday session. Call up the fellas you haven’t skated with in a while, make a Facebook post, send out texts to all the bladers you know, and get a big skatepark or street session going on Christmas Eve or even Christmas Day. Everyone will be at home, so spots will be a virtual no bust. I think you’ll be surprised by how much a big crew session can do for you personally and your scene as a whole. These Holiday Season sessions will be looked back on as the golden years. Hell, maybe even roll over to someone’s house after the session to watch videos, and kick back. Give your scene/crew a proper Blade Christmas.

It goes without saying that the WRS Uploaded World Finals 2011 was an overwhelming success, both in the level of skating and the massive amount of fan participation from around the globe. Nils Jansons defeated Chris Haffey in the Fan Favorite public voting category, but the overall champion in the crucial Judging category was Brian Aragon, which had Alex Broskow taking 2nd and Nils Jansons in 3rd, and the final say. OG Intuitionland blader Jeff Destefani told us about new ledges he found, so we met up there today only to find out it was a spot we skated a few years back. Nevertheless, the session went down, and we found ways to make this old spot new again, and Jeff proved an old dog still has his tricks. Then we hit one more spot, and called it a night.
