It rained all day in Intuitionland, and it was a hectic week at the shop. So I figured it was a good time to post up pics from the Sunday Night Skate in Las Vegas last weekend at Desert Breeze skatepark, the day after Sin City Session 2 went down. As you may well know, Chris Haffey has been performing on the Nitro Circus Live tour in Australia and New Zeland in front of sold out stadiums. What you may not know, is that Chris will join the NCL crew this Saturday, June 4th, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas for a blockbuster show where 10 first ever tricks will be attempted in a single night.

It sounds like the Las Vegas stop is supposed to be pretty special. What’s the story?
Yeah, Vegas is going to go off! Since it is a single show no one really has to be worried about being healthy for a show the next night, so I think a lot of people are planning some special tricks for this one. Every show is already insane, so I can’t even imagine how crazy this one is going to be. On top of that, they are bringing in some special guests for this one, so it should be the best show to date.

How many shows have you done now with Nitro, and where all has that taken you?
I have kind of lost count, but it’s well into the 20s. So far we have hit every capital city (with multiple shows in each) in Australia, five Cities in New Zealand, and then seven or eight other cities in Australia. I had been to Australia a few times for some other things, but nothing as extensive as this tour. I had never been to New Zealand before, so that was awesome to get out there for the first time. My parents had always wanted to go to NZ as well and figured it was a good excuse, so they came out for a few weeks and got to catch two shows. Definitely been sick in terms of experiencing new things!

What was the qualification process like? As a super respected and accomplished master of your sport, what was it like to open yourself up to the criticism of the quote-unquote action sports community?
You say open yourself up to criticism like I haven’t experienced that at every skatepark I have ever gone to since I was 11. (Editor’s Note: Good point. Ha.) Either way, basically I got an email from one of the producers and he said “We have a Mega Ramp-style ramp set up in California and we would like to have you come out and see what you can do with it.” I have been trying to get on one of those things since I first saw one…
